About the Media Hub

The i.Map Migration Media Hub aims at empowering media actors to deliver journalistic excellence on migration reporting and present an evidence-based, balanced narrative on migration. Developed in response to the increasing prominence of migration issues in media, news and public debate, the Media Hub will act as a tool designed to support and empower media actors and journalists who cover migration issues.

A key component of the Media Hub is the Newsfeed, which provides an aggregated newsfeed of articles in Arabic, English and French drawn from a wide variety of reputable sources. The tool gives users the ability to filter news items by language, geographical scope, migration theme and source.

Guidelines and Glossaries provides media actors with support tools such as training material, ethical guidelines and glossaries on migration to ensure that reporting on migration is of high quality and evidence-based. Linked to this, the Media Hub will also showcase the activities and outputs related to the Migration Media Award (MMA), which recognises and rewards the journalistic excellence, relevance and newsworthiness of press pieces dealing with migration in the Euro-Mediterranean region with the aim of rebalancing the narrative on migration.
